Security, health and safety are of critical concerns to everyone. - March 07th 2005
Building fires, Water Damage and Crime add up to a triple threat to every building owner and occupant, from the mom and pop home owner to the large multi-unit apartments, hotels and business towers. Automated and remote monitored burglar alarms are widely used thought the world, but the fail to warn the owner of property damage from water leaks, carbon monoxide poisoning, biological and chemical contamination, energy waist and other high cost threats.
The cost of owning property has sky rocketed, along with the increased need for energy conservation and more reliable security. With a gallon of water costing more then a gallon of gas, conservation saves money. Water leaks and valves stuck open cost in damaged property and wasted water. Hidden water leaks may cost thousands of dollars before they are even detected, not to mention the disruption when the leaks flood living and workspaces. Health hazards caused by water damage include molds, fungus and other allergens. Long after water leaks are detected and repaired, these living organisms are persisting as health threats. Buildings with repeated water damage often have loose the ability to purchase insurance and cost of repairs/replacement of damaged property falls completely on the owner.
Prevent property damage, lost productivity and health hazards with an integrated BreakerPanel™ monitoring, damage control and reporting system.
- Monitor for multiple potential property threats and upgrade to handle more
-
Detect, stop and report events as they happen with remote control.
-
Notify property owner, building manager, engineering department, security, police, and fire/rescue with detailed problem description; by fax, email or phone.
-
Stop leaks as they start, by shutting off water supply at appliance.
-
Stop airborne contamination by monitoring ventilation systems.
-
System monitors for abnormal changes in usage which can indicate a stuck valve, defective thermostat or other custom sensor alert condition.
-
Provides conservation benefits with custom control over all monitored resources including; water use, air conditioning temperature, air quality and energy consumption to minimize waist.
How does the BreakerPanel™ system keep track of each faucet, toilet, washing machine and water sprinkler system, in addition to monitoring security of windows, doors, motion detectors and an array of contamination threats?
BreakerPanel™ is a smart computer system that monitors many different remote senor devices. The system starts with a simple MultiBreaker™ SlimLine™ and MultiBreaker™ Quattro™ mini control unit for smaller applications. For midsize and up to large installation, the expandable MultiBreaker™ BreakerPanel™ solution meets the need. The BreakerPanel™ can be interlinked with your sprinkler system, in order to make watering grounds/terraces more cost efficient, by reducing the amount of wasted water, especially during rainstorms.
The BreakerPanel™ operates much like the traditional “Electric Breaker Box” you have in your home. The box is full of two rows of breakers (switches) that trip when there is a problem. Unlike the old fashioned electrical breaker box that was limited to shutting off service, the MultiBreaker™ will take action to turn of valves, redirect vents, change thermostat settings, contact by email, fax and phone, and monitor for chosen patterns in resource use. By monitoring resources with an intelligent system, completely hidden leaks can be detected by water constant, but very slow flow of water at toilet or one of 20 toilets in restrooms, or a kink in a hidden ice maker hose fails to use any water.
This system communicates everything needed to locate and correct problems with incident specific information; location, time, problem, action taken and action suggested. MultiBreaker™ system is a sophisticated system that is engineered to make it as user friendly as possible. There are four basic components to the system, that together, control each appliance connected to the system via a MultiBreaker™, a CorsoValve™ and a NanoSensor™ by communicating with the ComPanel™, over either a wired network or by a state of the art wireless network.
Example: When a leak is detected at an appliance, the NanoSensor™ will trip the MultiBreaker™ at the BreakerPanel™ shutting off the water supply line at that location with a remotely controlled CorsoValve™. The BreakerPanel™ will send an alarm e-mail, fax and phone call, with a full description as text, audio and graphic drawings of the appliance’s location in property and an explanation of what has happen and the probable cause. Real people are trained security observers monitor and search for problems as part of the 24/7Assurance™.
BreakerPanel™
The BreakerPanel™ holds up to 16 MultiBreaker™ modules and can be expanded with up to 100 slave panels. The system easily scales up for larger applications with the capacity to monitor up to 1600 sensors and CorsoValves™. To quickly find problems when the occur, an LCD panel displays a easy to understand graphic and text description along with audio.
When a NanoSensor™ detects a problem, like a water leak, it trips the connected MultiBreaker™ which lights up the Error LEDs on the BreakerPanel™.
NanoSensor™
The sensors monitor a wide variety of threat conditions including; water leaks, lethal levels of carbon monoxide, abnormal pH/chlorine levels in pool or spa, moisture demands of yards and custom monitoring with wide range of sensors. When a alert condition trips a MultiBreaker™ the BreakerPanel™ will close a connected CorsoValve™.
MultiBreaker™
Each breaker module can be either hard-wired or remotely connected to one or more sensors and can control an individual CorsoValve™ or RemoteActuator™. An individual breaker can monitor any or all of the following: water leaks or flow levels on any appliance, plumbing fixture or plumbing line; temperature levels for energy conservation and provide early detection of fire; carbon monoxide levels, pH level in pools, water sprinklers, air conditioning and filtration and .
Breakers are identified by color, depending on their function;
- BLUE: for all water appliances; toilets, sinks, washing machine, hot water tank, spa, swimming pool and more.
-
GREEN: for lawn sprinklers and replaces timer control box.
-
RED: communicates directly to local fire department and can tell them where the fire started.
Each breaker module monitors one or more sensors and controls one CorsoValve™ or other RemoteActuator™.
CorsoValve™
This valve is designed to control the water line to the appliance, plumbing fixture or the main line for an entire apartment, wing or floor. It can be manually turned on or off without power at its location. The patented new water control CorsoValve™, which eliminates the need for a manual gate or ball valve. What this means for you, is that you will not have to deal with any failure or replacing of rubber diaphragms.
24/7Assurance™
Property owners can take advantage of the MultiBreaker™ system’s around the clock real-time human monitoring of all facilities off-site for home, building or complex. When a problem condition is detected appropriate action is taken to follow up and verify the automated actions of system. The system can be remotely monitored by connecting to the BreakerPanel™ through a simple to understand web page. Some conditions can be corrected automatically or remotely. 24/7Assurance™ is a monitoring service that works for you 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
The MultiBreaker™ System functions as a complete security, protection, and controlling system which have a wide range of applications. “Homeland Security” issues have to be dealt with In order to make our daily life safer. This system is a proactive monitoring solution that can act to control a building or complex from a variety of potentially harmful exposure to toxins like mold and mildew resulting from the aftermath of water leaks in the air ducts to contaminating agents in the water supply
According to the Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS), in 2002, $6.8 billion solely in residential property damage was amassed, due to water or freezing (www.metlife.com – “Homeowner Tips to Prevent Water Damage”). Moreover, in the same year, property damage caused by residential fires amounted to $6.1 billion (National Center for Injury Prevention and Control – www.cdc.gov – “Fire Deaths and Injuries: Fact Sheet”). Finally, according to the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), 200 people die each year by being accidentally poisoned by carbon monoxide, while 5000 more are injured (carbon-monoxide.net/indexco.htm – “Carbon Monoxide Detectors for Your Home are as Important as Smoke Alarms”).
MultiBreaker™ meets everyone’s needs from single family home to large apartment tower, from the academic campus to a commercial production facility.
MultiBreaker™ system meets your needs today and expands for tomorrow.
